The Buff Silkie Bantam is a gorgeous Golden variety of the Silkie Bantam breed, miniature chickens that originated in China and Japan. Some accounts even trace their history back to one of Marco Polo’s discoveries. Regardless, they have been recognized by the American Poultry Standard of Perfection, and they are a great choice for anyone in need of a show bird or pet. They are very broody, and they handle confinement extremely well. Buff Silkie bantam chicks are buff or straw colored with some having brown streaks down the back. Their skin, beak, legs and toes are black. Some have beards and muffs while others do not. They have walnut combs, a small crest, five toes on each foot and feathers on their legs and feet. All the adult plumage is golden buff with the males being slightly darker than the females. Place your order for Buff Silkie Bantam chicks today.
