Splash Laced Red Wyandotte chickens are an American breed of chicken developed in the 1870s. The Splash Laced Red Wyandottes are beautiful chickens that have a laced color pattern which is mahogany/red in color with light grey around the edge of every feather. Similar to the Blue Laced Red, Splash is the lightest shade out of the blues. This chicken makes an excellent pet and is good for eggs and/or meat. They will on occasion go broody and they make excellent mothers. They work well in confinement or free range and are a great back yard chicken. We only offer these at this time as our production type/line not a show type. The Splash Laced Red Wyandotte is not currently recognized by the Standard of Perfection; however, several are working on getting this color recognized. They have yellow feet and legs. Pinkish rose colored combs and wattles are smaller and kept close to the body for cold hardiness.
