White Pekin Ducks belong to the Heavy Weight Duck Class, are the most popular of all ducks. In the United States, White Pekin Ducks are raised more than all of the other breeds of ducks combined. They have become very popular because of a combination of traits: hardiness, good fertility, excellent hatchability, calm temperament, large size, superior growth rate, excellent feed conversion, yellow skin and white plumage. When hatched, ducklings they are yellow with orange beaks and feet. When mature they are creamy white with yellow skin are very large breasted. The White Pekin duck has a fast growth rate making it an excellent choice for meat. White Pekin Ducks Females and Males weigh 9-10 lbs. respectively at 12 to 15 weeks. They are cold hardy, active foragers, broody and make good farm ducks.
